Make Do March Day 11: Maize and Blue

Can I say "blogger...I'm irritated, you deleted my whole post! ARghh!"
So here is the post in another form...
I started this quilt in 2006...yup 6 years ago. It has traveled with me on 8 moves in the last six years, and I have forgotten who the original recipient of the quilt was to be.
Oh and did I mention that for the last 6 years it has sat in a closet or box, already pinned? It just needed to be quilted. How lame is that?

So here it is in all its finished glory...I really love the pattern that was created. Pinwheels are my favorite:)

The back of the quilt was pieced together with random yellow fabrics. I was apparently just as cheap 6 years ago as I am today:) But in actuality I have put a pieced together backing on a lot of my quilts. It makes it reversible!

It's not a super large quilt. But I think it's perfect for lazing around on the couch with!

I didn't use binding to finish it; I just used the back and folded it over. Technical quilting it is not, but such is life. I stitched in the ditch for those of you who are into quilting and know the lingo. Personally I think it turned out great!

Notice the sun? We've had some absolutely gorgeous days up here! The light is also coming back with avengence! Woohoo!

Happy Make Doing!

  3. What a fun looking quilt. I may have to try 'steal', I mean try my hand at this pattern. I love using what I have - thrifting or being cheap, it all works for me.

    1. It's super easy! Just sew three strips together and then cut into squares and arrange. I think it's technically called a basket weave!
